Association of Zoos & Aquariums

Founded in 1924, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of zoos and aquariums in the areas of conservation, animal welfare, education, science, and recreation. AZA is the accrediting body for the top zoos and aquariums in the United States and 12 other countries. Look for the AZA accreditation logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. PAVR-O is committed to the professional development of its members through certification, conferences, regional workshops, advocacy and standards of practice and ethics. At PAVRO, we provide leadership for professional administrators of volunteer resources. We promote the qualifications, standards and ethics of the profession. We provide professional development in the administration of volunteer resources. We represent the members and to advocate on behalf of the profession. We respect and reflect the diversity of the profession. We promote communication among the membership and beyond for the mutual benefit of the members and we coordinate efforts among organizations with similar objectives.

Volunteer Management Canada

Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada is the champion in the field of Volunteer Management. Dedicated to advocacy, capacity building and networking, it connects and empowers a network of professionals and passionately elevates the quality of volunteerism in Canada. VMPC collaborates with provincial, national and international organizations to support its membership and strives for volunteer resources management to be recognized and respected as a leading profession of choice.

VMPC supports an international certification process for Managers of Volunteer Resources through the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA).

Volunteer Benevoles Canada

Volunteer Canada is the national voice for volunteerism in Canada. Since 1977, the organization has been committed to increasing and supporting volunteerism and civic participation through ongoing programs, special projects and national initiatives, by developing resources and by engaging in research and training across the country. Working with volunteer centres, community and national organizations and businesses, Volunteer Canada actively leads national dialogues on how volunteerism relates to citizen engagement and civil society and provides leadership on issues and trends in the Canadian volunteer movement.

Volunteer Ireland is the national organisation that promotes, supports and advocates for volunteering in Ireland working with a range of stakeholders to make volunteering accessible, inclusive and of high quality. They build capacity in organisations and companies to create meaningful volunteering experiences. They celebrate volunteering and communicate its impact to Government and the wider public. They advocate for volunteering so that its value is recognised. They support the network of Volunteer Centres and work closely with them to ensure volunteering thrives at local and national level. Volunteer Ireland's vision is for an Ireland where volunteering thrives.

Learning, Resources & Tools

Better Impact has been helping the volunteer sector since 2001. Its membership spans the globe and includes members in the USA, Canada, Bermuda, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Better Impact's mission is to support Leaders of Volunteers in fulfilling their contribution toward their organization’s mission. This includes creating volunteer management software designed to meet the needs of Leaders of Volunteers. We pride ourselves on being there for members when they need some assistance. We also offer education and professional development opportunities while supporting professional associations with like minded missions.

Volunteer Success is a registered Canadian charity that connects organizations to people and people to causes. We make it fun and easy for people of all ages and expertise to find meaningful volunteer opportunities. Nonprofit Learning Lab

The Nonprofit Learning Lab is a national nonprofit that trains leaders in the nonprofit sector. They offer daily online nonprofit training and in-person Labs on facilitation, fundraising, strategic planning, communications, volunteer management, and more. The Nonprofit Learning Lab also offers free resources to help you lead your organization. They provide intermediate to advanced training for executive directors, c-suite staff, development directors, program directors, volunteer managers, operation directors, and board members.
